Thank you, thank you! Once again, we finished the year with success. 33rd one at that ! Thanks to all the volunteers for their hard work and time to make this event happen. Everyone come back again next year and don't forget to post one or two of your best pics and stories on the Facebook page.
Invite your stage and other ham friends to like this page. Next year, race is March 17-18, 2018 so mark your calendars. Keep watching for news and updates.

New Stage Hours & Lengths Chart

Please review the newest chart for Stage hours and their lengths.  The timing may be off due to the construction zones along the course.  Look for the chart under Forms, Maps, etc.

New Stage 11 map Addition

We have added new information regarding construction along the race route in Pahrump at Stage 11.  If you are traveling from Stage 10 to 11, please pay attention to the instructions on this map.  It it posted under Forms, maps.

We just put the newest stage maps on this site.  These maps replace all prior maps.  Please look at the changes to Stage 10, Stage 11, Stage 12, Stage 16, Stage 17.  
If any of these effect you, please pay attention to any instructions regarding those changes.


In Stage Frequencies

The in stage frequencies for Ham Operators will remain the same as in 2016. We are continuing to use CTCSS  tones, also the same as last year.  The actual frequencies will not be published on this site.  
All info or updates regarding frequencies will be emailed to your stage leader.  
Please remember to provide your email contact info to your stage leader as well as emergency cell phone info so you can be located in case of emergency.

Stage Hours Updated

This just in:  The stage hours for 2017 will be pretty much the same as in 2016, but some stages hours may have been change by 15 minutes.  Please go to Forms, Maps & Other Important Documents and look under stages for the updated sheet.

All stage ham operators must read the document "Operations Net Guidelines" that has been placed under Forms, Maps & Other Important Documents.
Be prepared for race day and thanks to all the volunteers.

Fillable Volunteer Application now available

We now have the fillable volunteer application working.  Go to either "Volunteer Opportunities" page or Form, Maps & Other Important Documents page and look in the upper section.
We still need volunteers for 2017.  If you have previously worked a stage, let us know if you wish to work that same stage.  If something has changed, please update your information by using the fillable application.

The 2017 Amateur Radio Communications Volunteer Application form is now up to date on this website.  Just copy the form, fill it out and either email it or mail it directly to Margie Hoffman KG6TBR.  The information is on the form and can be found under tab "Forms, Maps and Other Important Documents" page.  
Remember, even if you are not a licensed ham, there are other job opportunities available.  If you worked in the past, please contact your Stage Leader and let him or her know that you are willing and ready to sign up again this year and ask what you can do to help.  There are a limited amount of positions required at each stage, so please sign up early as we will not need more than 12 volunteers at any stage this year. 
Keep checking on these pages for any updates.  Also, all forms and maps are available on this site and most of them have not changed even though you may see the 2016 date listed on the form.  I will try to change all the names so there is no confusion, but know that I am checking for correctness on all documents.  The stage hours for 2017 will be the same as in 2016.
